Terms and Conditions

To ensure Alana MUHA can continue to offer the best services in her business, these terms and conditions have been created as a guideline for you as the client to understand and abide by when booking your appointment.

1. Booking Processes + Booking fees

  • a) Client is to be able to pay all costs related to the service at the time of booking - pricing guidelines can be seen on the service pages on Alana MUHA's website.

  • b) Bookings are only accepted through the contact/book form on this website.

  • c) Once booking is complete and all required details have been discussed the client will receive a booking confirmation detailing the service and their unique estimated quote. The client will need to accept this quote along with these terms and conditions before proceeding.

  • d) After the quote has been accepted, to ensure the booking date is secured a 50% non-refundable "save the date" booking fee invoice will be sent to the client. "Save the date" booking fees will become part of the final costs all together. Please avoid asking for refunds of "save the date" booking fees as they will not be given - read the cancellation/rescheduling policy below for the only exception to this statement. 

  • e) Bookings will be held for 1 week following sending the booking fee invoice, if payment is not received within that time the date will be released to other potential clients.

  • f) The remainder of the invoice will be sent out 1 week (7 days) or as close there to prior to the booking and is to be completed before the service commences - no exceptions. The person responsible for the entire balance is the person(s) who has signed the booking contract. If payment has not been received up to 2 hours before the service is due to commence the booking will not go ahead.

  • g) If your booking is made within a week, the full booking quote will be due to be paid in its entirety as soon as possible in order for the booking to go ahead.

  • h) All payments to be made via card through a link detailed clearly on the invoice sent to the client's email address. Cash is not accepted.

  • i) Appointments can not hold a secondary date as a potential replacement for the original date. Except if your event requires more than 1 date detailed clearly from the beginning. Clients rescheduling a booking must confirm one date only or however many that were reflected in original quote. Unless a "save the date" booking fee is paid Alana MUHA has the right to keep all available dates and times open for booking purposes.

  • j) As soon as the 50% non-refundable "save the date" booking fee has been made the invoice can not be reduced regardless of changes occurring within the booking. However, if changes to the booking arise that involve additional numbers, changes in location or timings that result in an increased quote these may be accommodated where possible to Alana's discretion. 

 

 

2. Cancellation / Rescheduling Policy

  • a) Should your cancellation be advised up to 48 hours in advance of the scheduled booking date and time any additional payments to your "save the date" booking fees will be refunded and the "save the date" booking fee while remaining non-refundable can be transferred to a new date to be selected immediately.

  • b) If cancellation is advised within 48 hours the "save the date" booking fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable and any additional fee's payed won't be refunded. If a new booking date is required this will call for a new "save the date" booking fee to be paid. 

  • c) ‘No Shows’ including vouchers and prepaid appointments (unless for significant proven reason) will not be refunded and vouchers will become redundant. A 'no show' will be called if a client is more than 15 minutes late to their booking with no communication.

  • d) If you require a re-schedule of your booking (pre-wedding consultations included) please get in touch up to 2 hours in advance of the scheduled booking to arrange a new date and time. If you re-schedule within 2 hours with no valid reason or are more than 15 minutes late to your booking with no communication, it may be cancelled and a "late fee" of $25.00 will be applied to the final bill.

3. Cancellation / Rescheduling due to C19 / Illness

  • a) If you are forced to cancel/postpone at any time due to events such as lockdowns or having an illness/covid proven through a legitimate, signed doctors certificate this is the only circumstance where any pre-paid booking fee's including the "save the date" booking fee will be either refunded in full or transferred to a new date.

 

 

4. Service Location and Requirements

  • a) Location of service for the day-of-event will be at the discretion of the client. There are certain requirements Alana MUHA needs to be able to complete the makeup and/or hair service: A table/work area as well as working electrical outlets and a sturdy ground space must be made available on the day for use by the makeup and hair artist. Ample lighting, whether by means of natural or by lamps and a regular/barstool height chair for makeup plus a regular height chair for hair would be appreciated.

  • b) The makeup chair provided by Alana MUHA has a weight rating of 150kgs only. Should this be not suitable, please notify Alana MUHA in advance of your appointment to allow for time to plan for a suitable alternative. Alana MUHA is under no obligation to ask clients their weight; the onus is on the clients to advise Alana ahead of time.

 

 

5. Privacy and Confidentiality 

  • a) As a professional makeup and hair artist Alana MUHA will need to obtain personal client information which may include full name, phone number, email address, personal address (if location booking is required) etc. This information is to be used solely by Alana regarding the booking and this only. 

  • b) Use of Images/media: Only in the case of client's permission any and all photographs, video, audio, and any other digitally or chemically stored media content that is captured or recorded by Alana MUHA and any of its representatives may be used on social media (including but not limited to Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, Pinterest) as well as Website, and/or in any brochure, flyer, or other advertising, marketing, and promotion deemed necessary. Client(s), if permission granted, agree to release any and all claims regarding use of their image for such purposes. Client(s) also agree to release the name and contact information of professional photographers and/or videographers used for recording any event for which Alana MUHA has been contracted to do makeup and/or hair. Client(s) agree to release to Alana MUHA use of said photographer/videographer photographs and recordings. The signed agreement serves as a release to client(s), photographer/videographer and authorises them to release to Alana MUHA and any of its representatives any photographs/recordings to use on any promotional materials Alana MUHA deems necessary. All required permissions and credit granted. Client may access any personal information of theirs and may correct any personal details provided by them.

6. Rights Reserved

  • a) Alana MUHA reserves the right to cancel any bookings that breach any of these terms and conditions. Email or text notifications of this cancellation will be sent to the client right away, any pre-paid fee's won't be re-funded.

  • b) Alana MUHA reserves the right to refuse service if unsanitary conditions exist and/or contagious infections are present including but not limited to pink eye (conjunctivitis), cold sores/fever blisters, suspicious rash, vomiting or other contagious viral bugs. Any pre-paid fee's relevant to the situation won't be re-funded. 

  • c) Alana MUHA reserves the right to refuse the application of the clients personal makeup or false eyelashes and will not grant any price reduction for use of clients products unless previously arranged (to Alana's discretion). 

  • d) Verbal abuse in any way from any person at the event is unacceptable, Alana MUHA reserves the right to cease service immediately if verbal abuse occurs and client will not be entitled to a refund.

  • e) Alana MUHA reserves the right to legal action if any provision or provisions of this agreement shall be held to be invalid, illegal, unenforceable or in conflict with any of the law(s) of any jurisdiction (including but not limited to physical abuse, inappropriate behaviour, stealing) the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not in any way be affected or impaired thereby. 

  • f) Alana MUHA reserves the right to suspend services or to withdraw from this engagement in the event that any of Alana's invoices are deemed delinquent. In the event that any collection action is required to collect unpaid balances due to Alana, you agree to reimburse Alana for the costs of collection, including lawyers' fees.

  • g) Alana MUHA reserves the right to being the sole and exclusive makeup artist and/or hair stylist (whichever apply's to clients unique booking confirmation and contract) providing all makeup artistry and/or hair styling services agreed to herein during the term of this agreement. This includes any assistant or team member working under Alana MUHA's name being the exclusive makeup artist/s and/or hair stylist/s hired on the day specified in this contract. Any outside Makeup Artist and/or hair stylist hired by the client (or anyone in the client's party on-site), must be communicated prior to the signing of this agreement.

7. Service and Price Guarantee

  • a) Alana MUHA will always stand behind the quality and professional nature of the services offered. If at any point you are not completely satisfied with the services performed, we encourage you to bring this to our attention immediately. We'd love the opportunity to correctly address your concerns and allow us a chance to win your trust back and prevent similar problems from happening in the future.

  • b) If you are still not satisfied with the outcome of our services, we will work towards a mutual agreement regarding the payment for services completed. As an example, we may agree to either forgive the related payment or accept a portion of the originally agreed price that reflects your level of satisfaction.

 

 

8. Liability

  • a) Alana MUHA and any of its representatives is not, under any circumstances, responsible or liable for incidental or consequential skin complications or other damages should they incur to client and/or bridesmaid or any other party member, due to sensitivity, irritation or allergic reaction from products used during services and that services are commissioned at your own risk. The onus is on the client to give advance notice (prior to application) if you or any of your party members have any specific allergies, sensitivities or skin conditions. If need be, a sample test of makeup may be performed in advance on the skin to test reaction. Client(s) agree to release Alana MUHA and any of its representatives from liability for any skin complications due to allergic reactions. See Health and Safety Policy for extended hygiene and sickness booking details.

  • b) Alana MUHA will endeavour to comply with each client's requirements and meet all expectations to satisfy the individual within the allotted time. Ample time is given for each makeup and/or hair application upon booking. In the unlikely event the client is unhappy with the final makeup application within their allotted time, Alana cannot be held liable under this contract. Acceptance of makeup and/or hair by client is acknowledgement by client that makeup and/or hair was done to their satisfaction.

  • c) If for whatever reason Alana cannot attend the scheduled booking due to potential scheduling conflicts (double bookings) personal illness or emergency reasons beyond Alana's control, best efforts will be made to provide client with suitable alternative artists if required and any pre-paid invoices will receive a full refund. The limit of liability, is a full refund of all monies paid for the services for the affected date only. 

  • d) Neither party will be liable if in the event of extreme emergencies beyond reasonable control including lock-out, power outage, industrial actions, road closures, strike, storms, fires, floods, pandemics, terrorism etc.

  • e) Children in attendance of the booking are to be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Children are not to be in the service area at any time, unless they’re having a service done and being supervised by a responsible adult. This is for their own safety; Alana uses expensive, very heavy, electrical equipment, which can be damaging or become damaged if not used correctly. Alana is not responsible for watching children. By making a booking with Alana MUHA, you acknowledge and accept this policy and release Alana from any liability if such a situation should arise.

 

 

9. Indemnity 

By agreeing to the terms and conditions you indemnify Alana MUHA from and against all actions, injuries, reactions, damages, liabilities, losses, claims, demands, judgements, suits, settlements, costs and expenses.
